trying to figure out what i lack the most with faces, skin etc...

There is always something i hate about my character faces, they lack of volume.

There are still things i don't understand, so i'm gonna practice with references next time.

thanks! it's still a bit difficult for me to work on volumes, i'm always counting to much on the line so i tried to forget it and work only like traditional painting (more or less).

well i think you did really really good
and i totally understand, our minds are already programmed to draw an outline for everything, even though most things don't have one, so when we have to make that transition it takes time but i think when it comes to volume you've got it, i love the way you paint

The fact is, when outlines are not here, i feel it lack of volumes, it's flat or something. And i think it's just cause i don't really understand how head volumes works, it's easier on body, cause most of the time you focus on the character face, but, same problem...
